  • Hilary Peach

I became a fan of Hilary in 2005. Her melodic, rough poetry is complemented so brilliantly with music. You can't call them songs. You must call them something different. They demand it. She breaks a lot of rules which is why we get along so well. Over the past few years I've been fortunate to create her website and design the CD packaging for Suitcase Local which I am extremely proud of.

    Website - June 2005
This is a promotional website that was made from photographs supplied by Hilary mixed with thrift store treasures. This was to instill a sense of familiarity and nostalgia throughout the site that complemented her audio work. We worked very closely coming up with ideas for each page.

Every page involves collaged elements from Sheila Norgate's paintings of which Hilary is a friend and fan.
  • CD Design - Suitcase Local - June 2008
As I mentioned earlier, I am particularly proud of this CD design. I feel it strongly represents what Hilary was after. Suitcase Local referred to her travels of meeting and feeling connected with a community and then moving onto the next.

Throughout her travels she collected a lot of memorabilia from each place. Along with photos of a well used suitcase, she supplied me with all this material and all imagery used was a part of Hilary's life in some way. I know that because of that, this album has particular closeness to her and that is what I enjoy about it the most. I made the connection.
