Heritage Hill Homes a project that derives its inspirational focus on the past. Centered on the historic homes of the Heritage Hill neighborhood of Grand Rapids, this project aims to create a bridge to the past through design. As a civic-minded designer, I find ways to organize and navigate the city I live in by referencing the past in order to appreciate the present. My inspiration comes from the beauty and individuality I find in the homes, as well as the rich architectural history. This project spreads awareness of this remarkable neighborhood by presenting it in a new light that appeals to a wider audience. By understanding the history of Grand Rapids, we gain a sense of civic pride that makes our time spent in this city more fulfilling and meaningful.
