Hasty's Fast Food
Hasty’s is fast food. It is McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, KFC, and any other restaurant that comes to mind on the subject of cheap, quick service. It is billions spent on advertising, and an ever growing, poor influence on the eating decisions of millions daily.
Hasty’s is designed to attract the fast food enthusiast and present them with an overwhelming amount of less than appetizing information about the food’s ingredients and preparation. Hasty’s packaging mirrors that of currently existing fast food packaging in the colors used and presentation of images, yet takes on forms meant to dissuade the viewer from purchasing such items. “TheBehemoth Burger,” for example, is designed in a skull-shaped box and contains headlines such as “Bigger is Better” and “I can’t believe I ate the whole thing,” commenting on the absurdity of extra value meals and marketing tactics that glorify overeating. Chicken Nuggets are packaged in a coffin-shaped box and contain a list of 38 odd ingredients, most of which are non-food items. French Fries are packaged in a cigarette box containing information about how the preservatives found in them prevent their decomposition.
Why does Hasty’s food taste so good? Because you have been eating their food since you were a child. Billions of dollars are spent on marketing every year to make this the stuff you crave. Ammonia injected, bacteria infested, and genetically altered, their secret is no secret.
