Within a refurbishment of a small two-room apartment in Milan it was decided two collect all the service functions of the project in a central hardcore, leaving maximum freedom use in the remaining space. The hardcore, entirely covered in MDF and varnished in red, contains in it's center the bathroom and integrates all the closets, the kitchen area and a foldable table. It's walls at the top leave space to a glazed glass frame which during the day let natural light penetrate inside the bathroom. During the evening, lit from the inside, the core becomes a lantern which illuminates the rest of the apartment.
