Happy Christmas from AKQA
Togetherwith Bikini Film’s talented director, Jonty Toosey, the creatives fromAKQA concocted a masterplan. They needed to cast 49 microwaves, eachtasked with playing a single note from the festive ditty. And each hadto have a distinct ping or ding. Help came from a catering company inBristol whooffered a variety of industrial microwaves" each with adistinct sound. And so with the microwaves cast, Pinewood studiosbooked and the camera loaded, we rolled up our sleeves and set aboutbuilding the wall. Then we rehearsed, rehearsed and rehearsed some moreuntil we were confident we had a little piece of Christmas magic in thecan.
