HUD was created to solve a social challenge: connecting genuinely with friends over food. The challenge faced here is finding cuisine that will meet the needs of the ever diversifying group of city dwellers, while allowing them to engage in real, face to face, human contact. Unmediated by technology. HUD, Heads Up Dining, plays off the acronym for heads up display, the idiom of giving someone a heads up, and literally getting peoples heads up from their cellphones while at a table. HUD is meant to enhance the entire dining out experience from choosing a restaurant to paying the bill.
