I was commssioned to deliver an illustration about a phenomenon which occurs in the game of basketball for the Wall Street Journal.
The story is about how the concept of a “hot hand” in basketball does exist. Most academics used to say that shooters never actually “got hot,” rather it was a flaw in our perception. The lede anecdote is about this Ethan Wragge #34 from Creighton,  who started a recent game with like 8 three pointers.

Although- I rarely sketch before a vector project, I thought it was necessary this particulaur time. to make the client comfortable with the collaboration and their choice of direction.
