    The Generation ready for changes and progress and able to use the lessons of the past, to
    appraise the present rationally, and ready to step up to future bravely. To be our reader, means
    to be aware of all the interesting trends, to have own opinion; to be in line of modern trends, to
    be looked for, be intellectually developed; to be a part of the dynamical movement forward. To
    be among all people, but to be not like everyone.

    Samir Guseynov – Why HIPSTER?
    Co-founder, art-director and head designer of HIPSTER Magazine.

    Initially Arzu visited our KOKON agency bringing an idea of creating a wonderful glamorous
    magazine of high quality. She needed a team for such a project.

    We had long disputes and discussions with lots of examples. And as a result we left home very
    nervous and on edge.

    Next day I had a simple idea – There is no a good and modern magazine for young people
    in Baku. It was true. Since that moment the idea was stuck in my mind. I started drawing
    sketches, surfing the Internet and looking for the “only one” word, which can represent all the
    interests and needs of modern youth. This word appeared to be ‘Hipster’. No other word could
    describe in such details the format of magazine which I imagined. We are not founders of that
    subculture in Baku and we have no intentions of popularizing it. It is just a mere metaphor.
    The idea of founding a magazine itself was aroused in May, 2012. The idea was simple – to
    create a really interesting magazine. To fill it with not only beautiful images and nice design
    solutions but also with an interesting content – informative, actual and alternative.
    Our audience is advanced and creative young people. The youth who shows a good taste and
    can easily tell good things from bad ones. They are people who definitely know their goals and
    how to succeed in achieving them. They are interested in various subjects and like to learn
    about new trends.

    In future I see our magazine becoming a kind of cult. We have plenty of plans. The main point
    is that the ways to those goals are very interesting. So we have a lot of features to constantly
    amaze our readers.

    The concept of the cover: All our magazine personalities will be in glasses and with moustaches
    regardless of their sex.
