Create a fundraising campaign that highlights the role that clean water and basic sanitation facilities have in helping people – and especially women – in poorer countries create new opportunities and a better life for themselves and their families. Hence, we encourage entries to highlight the importance and the role that clean water and basic sanitation and hygiene facilities play for women and their living conditions around the world. A measurable objective is that the campaign should generate at least 1 000 monthly donors (each contributing at least SEK 50 per month) within three months of the campaign start.
A secondary objective is that the campaign should also - help raise the awareness of the need for clean water and basic sanitation and hygiene facilities around the world as well as the awareness of WaterAid - raise the awareness of WaterAid as a charity and the role it plays in alleviating these
problems. As WaterAid has not yet established any system for tracking awareness of these last two issues, entries should also discuss how they could be measured in order to demonstrate the success of the campaign.
A photograph of a class with only boys. The empty seats are made for girls that are missing. The empty spaces symbolize girls that had to drop out of school.
When girls enter puberty and start to have their period, they are particularly affected by the lack of even the most basic sanitation facilities, and often forced to drop out of school.
The contribution took me and two other students to the final of Guldlådan 2012 held by swedish Posten.
