Beer has a long history in Norway – at least 1000 years. However in the early 20 th century brewing was industrialized and home brewing outlawed. The Gudvangen beer (Gudvangen Øl) is a brand that brings brewing back to its roots. 200 years ago no farm was complete without a brewhouse. Gudvangen, being a tourist town, has many visitors wishing to experience a true family-brewed Norwegian beer. Gudvangen Øl is just what they’re looking for. The beer label design needed to represent the qualities of the beer while forming a brand for this new company in an established community.
