The poster brief gave us the choice between designing a poster for Gruff Rhys, Paolo Nutini, Only Boys Aloud or hyrodaHero. I decided to go for Gruff Rhys even though I preferred the music of Paolo Nutini, because I liked how quirky he is as a person and a musician and wanted to communicate this through my poster design. With this in mind, I decided to play on the fact he has facial hair and toyed around with brackets as a moustache to help add familiarity to fans and a quirky, different take on gig posters for passers-by.
