Gregory Vineyards
packaging design
Gregory Vineyards in Angier, NC, needed a redesign of their logo and wine labels. They produce seven varieties of wines, some juices, host events, and give tours and tastings at the winery, which is located on a 120 acre century old working farm.

Primary considerations for the label design included a consistent look across all of the seven wines, a prominent logo that invoked the spirit of the farm, and a visual feel to the label which was more modern than an austere dry traditional label, but without going over the top with garish colors or designs. Three primary images are used, a fox, a bald eagle, and a picture of the main building, that has a long history of its own as a local landmark when it was previously a restaurant run by the Gregory family for several decades. Visual cues on the label include a background of red or white depending on the variety of wine. All the information (including government warning) is on a single label instead of a two label front-back configuration.

Initial design work for the logos, labels, and label elements were sketched with ink and colored pencil on paper. Work was completed in Illustrator and Photoshop.
