- Graphic Design Portfolio
Online collection of my work
- This is my newly fangled portfolio website. I wanted to create something that utilizes unique textures and elements, is easy to navigate, and is also very personal. The main page is the portfolio page, and displays all my featured pieces on one page. The user may also sort the items by the categories, "Logos," "Print," "Art," and "Web." The site is fairly simple with only 3 pages ("Portfolio," "Hire me," and "About Me") and 1 external page which links to my blog. The header features a photograph of an abstract art piece I created with paper and an X-acto blade, my sketch of Marilyn Monroe, and a text element. The texture in the background adds depth and adds warmth to the cool color scheme. I chose the gray/brown color for the site because I felt that it let the art pieces stand out without sacrificing style. The site actually used 5 fonts, which is usually advised against, but I feel that design guidelines are made to be broken sometimes. Another rule I am breaking is using a serif font for the content descriptions on the pages. I have seen websites doing this very frequently lately, and I feel that the readability isn't sacrificed here.
Comments are so greatly appreciated!
