University assignment:
Design a promotional piece advertising a randomly assigned event that caters to the audience of a randomly assigned city.
My peers & I chose to physically create this piece as opposed to digitally rendering to better capture the textures used, & to evoke as much nostalgia as possible. We painted straws to create the piping representing 'roots', in reference to Genealogy & family trees.
A friend who specializes in cardboard sculpture recreated the Atlanta skyline, & I covered the pieces with magazine images of individuals indicative of Atlanta's diverse culture.
I carried the theme of black & white photography behind the letters in the graphic orange raised bar dissecting the piece horizontally.
(We found out all too late that I had, in fact, spelled Genealogy incorrectly. My apologies.)
