This project was to understand the traditional method of manufacturing a boot with an all stitch construction. The method I chose to demonstrate was the Goodyear welt where separate ribbon (welt) is stitched from the midsole to the upper to produce a stitch-able anchor surface for the sole. Produced with Natural 8oz Vegetable Tanned leather welt and soles with 6oz Chromium Oxide leather uppers & sewn together with Tex-50 Kevlar® thread.
