Espresso cups

These luxurious espresso cups have a hand blown glass body and cast glass handles. The handles are cast first and then fused to the cup's body during the blowing process. These cups are designed to be handmade in small artisan glass shops with the help of the graphite mold.

The cups nest as a set of three within a hexagonal wooden storage box which also doubles as a serving tray.

Pâte de verre bowl

Pâte de verre is a form of kiln casting where finely crushed glass is mixed with gum arabic and packed into the inner surface of a negative mold. During firing, the glass is fused, forming the desired object.

The typeface aesthetic of this bowl was a creative response to the functional need for a mold surface with a relief pattern. This minimizes unwanted movement of the glass paste as it melts and shrinks during the firing process.
