This project resulted from a partnership between a post-graduation in Motion Design and an Oporto art festival.
Get Set Festival is an event that pretends to show the work of students and young professionals. This festival brings to Oporto creators around the world focusing areas like architecture, design, video, art, fashion, new media, multimedia, music, interactivity, performance and installation.
2012 Festival Theme / After "High Tech - Low Cost" in 2010 and "Don't Panic, Be Organic" in 2011, Get Set Festival 2012 had "Decadent Beauty" as it's theme. In this 3rd edition, more than a perspective or attitude, the Festival wanted to promote action. Occupying declined buildings, after years of neglect, the Festival assumed the role of regeneration that is expected from the creative sector.
Having this theme in mind it was asked to develop all kind of multimedia material (open titles, bumpers, coffee breaks, sponsor titles, end credits). The class was divided in three groups, each one developing different media.
We developed bumpers and coffee breaks. We selected several objects found in an abandoned house chosen by the Get Set staff. Those objects were really old and most of them broken. Based on the theme and the role of regeneration we tried to reconstruct and connect those objects with paper tape. For each day of lectures we chose a different place to set up the scene.
