My final design features an open tube frame that was inspired by ski-boats and their unique wakeboard tower designs. The grill also features 4 Pyle Hydra marine speakers that are water resistant and have built in mounting brakets to attach to round tubing. The speakers are powered by a 200 watt Pioneer amplifier and the amp is powered by a custom made power inverter which converts 120v AC power to 12v DC current.
The fire-box and hood were designed to have an aggressive and sporty look with a recessed center that runs along the center of the hood. It also features a unique handle design that invites the user to open the hood and can be used by left or right handed consumers. The fire-box features an angled face that properly angles the 3 temperature guages upward so they can be viewed easily.
The colors were also a very important aspect of my design. I chose a color called Hot Rod Black for the hood and the fire-box, which is a satin black. The frame was done in a very high gloss red called Tropical Red, and this was chosen because of its high contrast with the satin black hood, fire-box, and speakers. It allowed the components of the grill to stand out from the tube frame of the grill. The grill also features brushed aluminum accents such as the prep wings, center recess of the hood, and the door.This helped to tie in the colors and create a high end look for the product.
