"Ganda Galo" is a Portuguese expression that states, with some humour, that something has gone completely wrong. At the same time, the rooster ("Galo") is a symbol of the country that highlights the popular culture and tradition through a ceramic sculpture often extensively ornamented with hearts named "Galo de Barcelos". As with every legend, it is magical and tragic - wonderful!
From tradition to popular times, the sculpture has been re-interpretated, and being that it is part of the folk culture it has been reintroduced recently as a minimal object to suit everyone's creative needs.
This event is about fun and folk.

Ganda Galo is a series of promotional items, posters, flyers and cards to promote a handicraft event in which more that 40 sculptures have been re-invented by the hands of the fellow artisans and artists from S. João da Madeira. The approach was very simple - to build an identity that would state the obvious, the Rooster, with a great personality twist bringing it to its old time when it was alive before becoming
a symbol.
Through a series of fun graphics built in the atmosphere of handicraft, with collage, illustration, and free-flowing workflow that embraces the error and the mistake and a traditional tool, Ganda Galo is a project for the people, thinking of the countryside, the rural, the passion & devotion of the folk, and, clearly: poultry.
