gam·in
noun a neglected boy left to run about the streets; street urchin.
Origin: 1830–40; < French, orig. young boy; of uncertain origin
The inspiration for this collection comes from the character of Gavroche from Les Miserables, and the gamins of revolutionary France. I wanted to convey the feeling of this boy who dresses with whatever he can get. The proportions reflect clothes that do not fit “quite right”, but rather swallow the body because they were oversized, or because of the many layers he wore.
