The Gl. Strand Art Society in Copenhagen is one of the oldest art institutions in Denmark. It first opened in 1825 and in 2011 it underwent an extensive renovation, making it a leading venue for modern and contemporary art in Copenhagen.
Gl. Strand re-opened with the widely recognized exhibition The Air is on Fire by David Lynch and has since hosted exhibitions by artists such as Georg Baselitz, Louise Bourgeois, Elmgreen & Dragset and Jonathan Meese as well as upcoming Danish and international artists.
Victor Lieberath did the complete redesign of the Gl. Strand identity as well as exhibition design for David Lynch and numerous other exhibitions and events.
