Submitted description:
Dark wood, and light wood veneer, both spiral up in a different manner towards a single implied point in space, turning their visual differences into a uniting element.

Full description:
Two forms of the same material, wood, come together to move towards one direction. One part is of dark solid wood, and in angular forms, makes its way up with broken and uneasy transitions. The text applied to it appears almost as a shadow. The other part is of wood veneer, 12 laminated layers of which twist up in a spiral towards the common direction. The text here is cut into the wood veneer as the single layers of it are much more penetrable than the solid wood. The text on the two pieces is the same, a description of wood veneer, a material that is forced out of its original solid form by a saw blade into thinner sheets, weaker yet more flexible. As the wood veneer is stuck back together, some of its original materials properties return, making it and the solid wood much more similar than one would first perceive.
Through the different properties of solid wood and wood veneer, one could realize how things can sometimes go back to what they originally were, even if they get separated, as the two parts share more than just a common axis. They move through space in both contrast and harmony, as they are pulled towards one target, both thinning as they go up and intertwine.
