The project requested that a furniture showroom should be designed in an ex-industrial hall, having the dimensions of 8x24m. The showroom would exhibit furniture of a classic style (of own choice) and modern contemporary style, in the mean time. The functions that were supposed to be covered by both of the styles were: bedroom, living room and a youth room. The story I created for this project revolves around wood - because it is the key material for the furniture I chose. I also wanted for the visitor to be curious about what he might see next, for him to only have a hint of what's inside, so that he would go and have a closer look. For this, the circulation is rather sinuous. Also, the exposing zones are divided by tall, frame - like panels, with a semi transparent printed plastic inside. The print has the shape of trees, and this print can be found on the walls of the entire exposing area, which creates the unity of the design, and contributes to the sensation of mystery. In order to preserve this unity, the samples are exposed in the same manner.
The colors chosen are from neutral to warm tones, as the furniture is exposed in the manner of creating the specific atmosphere for which it is designed.
