13ª FESTA DO CINEMA FRANCÊS13th French Film Festival
Breaking with the previous editons, this proposal presents an anti-cliché and creative approach, making a bet on
being different. The underlying idea is “Come feed on cinema”, taking an historical reference, the “Francesinha”
(literally translates as “Little French Girl”), not as a symbol tied to the French imaginary, but instead the word itself and the origin of the dish.
The “Francesinha” was created by a Portuguese emigrant that brought to us French culinary concepts, much like
the festival brings French culture to Portugal.
The poster wants to attract attention and promote contemplation on the viewer, as these are common assumptions inherent to cinema as a medium. The bridge between image and theme (cinema) was created by using the metaphor of the “Play” symbol, in the egg yolk and the VHS video tape inside the “Francesinha”.
