This is an acrylic painting I did for a project in class. I liked the imagery. I have painted with acrylics before, but never anything this large, and I haven't done portraits. This canvas is 30 x 40.
I did this years ago, but it turned out well. I love to do sketches and freehand drawing, and this was my second cat drawing.
I was practicing on drawing humans (rather than animals), and I found a reference that I liked, and used it as my guide.
I created this one for my husband. He worked out of town quite a lot.
I love dragons, but I'm more partial to the western dragons than the eastern ones. I just loved playing with this concept of giving it human-like qualities.
I drew this tiger years ago, he turned out phenomenal! I really hadn't drawn cats before, so this was a challenge.
