The purpose of this poster is to draw attention to a cause or purpose. The cause I decided on was a nonprofit organization called Free Arts for Abused Children that reaches out to at-risk youth in communities giving them the chance to learn how to express themselves through creating art, writing, and music. I love the idea of using art to heal and empower people, especially kids and youth, and so I couldn't think of a better cause to promote. The photo of the face is one I photographed myself and then modified in Photoshop. The concept is that the mask is something you can create and can be expressive, but it's also something that can be used to hide behind. The kids Free Arts works with are used to hiding, but they're learning to free themselves through art.
