Four Animals, Three Ways

The design problem was to create three distinct style sets for four different animals. I chose the three-toed sloth, the barn owl, the snail, and the narwhal. My goal with the first set was to draw attention to the texture and pattern of the animals through large areas of black and white. With the second set I created a literal depiction of the animals and placed a symbol in their gut to inform the viewer of their diets. Lastly, with the third set I wanted to create the most simple, geometric, minimalistic symbol possible for each animal while still being instantly recognizable.
