This is a logo I designed in 2009 in a creative design class for Louisiana State University's ForeverLSU campaign. The original logo features the architectural arches of many buildings on campus and a different typeface.
Explanation of logo:
When one thinks of Louisiana, a live oak tree is sure to come to mind. It is a symbol of strength, stability, and steadfastness. And compared to our lives, they seem to live forever and stand the test of time. Whether you were born here, moved here from some foreign land, or go to school here, you know the importance of oak trees to Louisiana culture, landscape, and heritage. The Forever LSU campaign was launched to help make LSU a flagship university and recognized as a world-class institution by increasing private financial support through donations. While yes, the arches in the orinal logo are iconic to LSU's campus, the hundreds of massively beautiful oak trees draped in spanish moss are what make the campus nationally recognized as one of the most beautiful in the country. I wanted donators, especially alumni, to be able to see this image and recall their own personal memories of walking through the shade of the trees on campus and make an emotional connection.
