This project focused on identifying fonts, font characteristics and type classifications. I studied Rockwell through multiple explorations and research. Rockwell is a slab serif, meaning the slabs are almost as thick as the character weight. The font was created in 1933 by Frank Hinman Pierpont and his design team at Monotype. It was made out of commercial necessity and is used mainly in headlines and large text. The final two posters are meant to create a series. One poster visually and verbally presents the characteristics of Rockwell while the second poster shows the font's history and typographer.
