Computer film, video projection, plexiglass and paper
Fly consists of a three dimensional multimedia installation, hung above the exhibition space. Philippe Safire produced a winged structure, composed of multiple plexiglass elements. Playing with transparency and opacity, the artist uses this large framework as a surface for the video projection. White lights emanate from the piece, twinkling without interruption. The piece operates like the sudden apparition of a virtual, magical state, from video games or mythology. As the title suggests, Fly recalls the human desire to fly, a common fantasy found throughout the history of man.
