In June 2007 Flirt FM (Galway's Student and Alternative Station) received a new 10 year FM broadcast licence. While the team behind the station and the majority of the presenters and schedule were to remain the same there was a change in frequency from 105.6 to 101.3. This presented a perfect opportunity for the station to re-brand.
The two speech bubbles were chosen to represent the dialogue between the station and its community. The font Synchro D is clear enough to be seen from a distance on promotional material and it also intimated the expanded digital content provided by the station in the form of podcasts, streaming and online application form. The logo is also one pantone + black or white so as to be economical to reproduce.
