Character and Creature
Creations
These designs entail some character and creature designs, along with two environmental shots. A lot of the character designs are studies of human anatomy and others were made to show processes like synthesis, modification, and substitution.
This particular creature was a creation in which I used synthesis to create a new creature from two or more different animals. I used a silverback and mixed it with the shell of a spiked sea shell. The top of the head is more akin to a bull skull with the horns angled back for a more stream lined look.
This is a model sheet for the horse called Destiny. This horse is the war horse of Fate, who is drawn below.
For this character design, I wanted to focus a little more on texture as well as muscle tone. Working with my darker pencils, I was able to add a nice layer of depth to this and is something I was relatively new to at the time.
This drawing was another experiment with different kinds of textures on one character.
This drawing was for an inside environment. As you can see I went with an Neo-Japanese look with serpants and dragons being the base. This would be a meeting room for business and other propositions.
This picture was drawn for a study for an outside evironment. I really wanted to work on texture here and I think it turned out well.
