'Flames' is about big concepts. Love, life and eternity.
I've drawn on powerful symbolism and our rich calligraphic
heritage to create this work. The Phoenix that is the
figurehead in this print is a mythological fire bird that
has come to symbolize eternity in the West. Similarly
the circles and stars depicted have been symbols of
eternity in a diverse range of cultures for thousands
of years. The aim here was to try to create a dynamic,
majestic, and hopefully beautiful piece of 'type art'
that truly stands the test of time. I don't know whether
I've achieved that, but I'm really proud of 'Flames'.
