Five for 5: National Advocacy Campaign

  • FIVE for 5 Campaign
    Microsite, Video, and Print
  • The Five for 5 advocacy campaign garnered attention for the G8 Summit in Canada, June 2010 where a key agenda item was the appalling situation of maternal and child health worldwide. This campaign provided a platform for Canadians to have their voices heard and urge the government to make a significant commitment.
  • Campaign microsite was created to house resources, but more importantly to provide a portal
for Canadians to take action easily and quickly.

  • A viral video highlighted the desperate situation of child deaths worldwide, the UN's commitment to reducing those deaths and how Canadians could participate by creating a symbolic "5" upload it to Flickr, Facebook, signing a petition, or contacting their MP.
  • Web banner ads were featured on MacLeans, Canadian Family and Today's parent online magazines,
urging Canadians to join the campaign. The video played and there were links to the website.

  • Posters in three different sizes were created and distributed widely as PDFs,
with the intent to direct people to the website.
