Optimism is underrated.
My Final Major Project is purely typographical. As a visual communicator I like to have fun with words. My work is there to offer some positivity when you’re feeling a little down, it’s there to give you some inspiration, and to just serve as an everday reminder that everything is going to be ok.
Each piece is made up of a quote/saying that is designed to promote happiness or positivity when looked at by the viewer. I have a love for hand drawn letters and wanted to explore the option of physically making things. My communication is delivered in many forms, through illustration, lino prints, papercutting, photography as well as digitally manipulating existing typefaces to suit my ideas and push it that little bit further.
I have always loved the music of Bob Marley. His lyrics and general outlook on life made for the perfect elements to tie in with the rest of my work. Ineveitably, it became my biggest poster and the centrepoint for which all the rest of the work is based.
