Leading manufacturer of fluid power hydraulic and pneumatic seals Hallite Seals International approached Great Fridays to help define and execute their Global Product and Service Design implementation with a phased rollout planned across all regions.
The Insights team began by understanding the current business eco-system, researched objectives and operational, creative and technical challenges facing a business that was primarily paper based, and operated a traditional print catalogue & direct marketing approach to engage with customers.
After extensive user research and interviews with global multilingual stakeholders in conjunction with customer workshops, we developed a series of use cases, and service groups. These detailed insights allowed us to understand and prioritise the specific scope of works based on value to the business. This was further refined until we could define the overall strategy, focusing on improvements to product search across web and a future mobile device ecosystem.
The visual design frameworks developed for the Hallite Group, amalgamated into a hi-fidelity interactive prototype that could be tested by real customers and global Hallite stakeholders.
After a series of iteration and testing sessions, visual design assets were produced and the first phase was built on an enterprise ERP/CMS platform. Phase 1 was launched within the UK in August and further regional rollouts are planned for the end of this year in preparation for the launch of Hallite's global ERP system and ecommerce functionality in 2013. Hallite are continuing to work with Great Fridays and looking at ways in which the business can provide more prescriptive products and services for their customers, now that the underpinning infrastructure enables them the freedom to do so.
