Farmer's almanac
in the nordic calendar
I’ve just completed a project for class where we were supposed to create a calendar/almanac inspired by ancient ways of measuring time. I decided to go with the old nordic calendar. The year is measured in winter semester and summer semester, with each of the 12 months having only 28 days. Two additional months are added, 14 days each, in order to sync with the seasons and the lunar orbit.

A special guest helped us with our project, Mr. Jörmundur Ingi Hansen, the ex-Allsherjargoði (high priest) of the nordic pagan religion, Ásatrú.

Materials:
Oak frame
4mm frame glass
Oil based paint

Description:
The almanac is based on the old nordic/viking calendar. It is silk screen printed onto a 4mm glass plate, measuring 70x90cm.
