This is a piece I did in watercolor and black guache over last weekend (2/16, 2/17) for fun. Originall the whole piece was done in guace, but I decided a background of pop color would be nice and allowed contrast, not only in color, but in style as well. The front piece has a focus on blending and texture. The back is more oriented toward interesting color mixing and differentiation between line and form. I ripped the top piece not only to have a sensible declaration of line between the two, but to also incorporate organic form and texture inachievable through 2d media solely. Highlights and pop colors were added as a final touch to the gauche portion to achieve a slight sense of unification through the piece.
