Festival Description:The Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF) screens over 200 films from around the globe. Filmmakers and celebrities attend many of the screenings and events over the 21 day festival. Parties and gatherings at area “hot spots”, on board yachts, and on the beach provide audiences an opportunity to hobnob with film talent and other movie buffs. At the heart of the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival are the films and the artists that create them. During the festival, films are divided into the following sidebars: COMPETITION FILMS, WORLD FILMS, AMERICAN INDEPENDENTS, DOCUMENTARIES, SHORTS, SUNSHINE CELLULOID (films from filmmakers throughout the state of Florida), CHILDREN’S FILMS, GAY AND LESBIAN FILMS, RETROSPECITIVES AND TRIBUTES.
The Idea behind FLIFF poster was to bring back the old black and white film style in my own way. I knew that a photograph was going to be the back bone of the project so I used one of my own. After playing with different fonts, I settled on Brannboll Fet and Helvetica Neue. To bring it together I played with different textures to date the photo then finish off with the placement of the type.
