Fino has been in the business of producing traditional Greek-style ice cream
since 1965. Our brief was to revamp the firm’s image with the following in mind:
i. summertime and ice cream, implying a carefree attitude, freshness and enjoyment
ii. attractive to children and teenagers.
We kicked off with a redesign of Fino’s logo aiming to retain the original color
palette, element of sun and the year trading began. This led us to a design that
incorporates retro aspects, portrays summer with an abstraction and creates
a compact and recognizable outline, which is handy given that the firm’s
communication is often heavily stuffed with photography.
For the firm’s visual identity we employed curved surfaces in full color as a metaphor
for the variety of colors and flavors available, adding visuals of objects related
to ice cream tradition.
