How can you sum up your life in just a few objects? Can an old concert ticket be more valuable than that gold necklace you have? How does a piece of junk become a piece of you? Where does the line that makes something priceless lie? These are some of the questions The Burning House Project tries to answer.
It was born in May 2011 with an apparently simple motto: to ask the viewers to submit a picture with all the objects they would save if their house were to burn down. Since then, over 300 people from all over the world have shared their priceless goods, in ways where what’s practical, what’s useful and what’s plainly sentimental learn to coexist and interact.
