  • Drifting in this abyss
    I see our earthly ways
    Ocean bound.
My once easy breath now heaving
    Fleeting bubbles
    Full of what’s done.

In today’s consumerist society we create a lot of waste. In this painting I reflect upon personal consumption and waste and it’s negative effect on our oceans. Scale, from the personal to all of humanity, is a central theme in this painting from the carbon we exhale through breathing, to all the things we release into the environment. The bubbles or circle images represent the way in which we often must go full circle to understand the full consequences of our actions. The images within these bubbles depict many of our cultural habits that we consider normal daily routine. Our oceans are becoming the final resting place for our waste products and is threatening the life which depends upon it, human's being one of it’s dependants.
