- "CELEBRATE GREEN HOUSTON & THE 2012 GREEN BUSINESS EXCHANGE"Date: May 9,2012Client: Gordon Quan, Houston GreetersPurpose: Non Profit Brand Exposure, Marketing and FundraisingNon Profit Houston Greeters was looking for ways to increase brand exposure, connect with new industries and raised funds.
Houston Greeters was founded in 2006 and is part of a Global Greeter Network, an informal association of Greeter programs around the world. Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, the Ivory Coast, Germany, Greece, Ireland, the Republic of Serbia, Russia (Moscow), Spain, The Netherlands, and the United Kingdom are some of the countries with active Greeter programs. In the United States, Greeter programs are available in Houston, New York and Chicago. The organization drives revenue, loyalty and increased brand exposure for the city by offering free “Greets” (personal introductions and tours) to some of Houston’s greatest assets and attractions.
The organization planned an event concept but a last minute venue cancellation demanded a new concept and venue. Within 3 weeks I solidified $11,000 of donations which included venue, food, wine and several sponsors. The concept piggy backed off of the month long Earth celebration and connected the non profit with over 30 organization.Services Rendered: Business development consultation, marketing, PR, event coordination, sponsorship sales, graphic design, volunteer management, social media support

- "THE BLACK & WHITE AFFAIR" Benefiting 100 Houston Families in Need
DATE: November 2011. Client: MJ Solutions in conjunction with Amy Powell and Ken Krimmel
Purpose: Non Profit Fundraising Event
A business associate had an idea to collect canned goods at a party for a local non profit that had an outreach program to feed the hungry with a tagline utilized by many organizations and initiatives Feed 100 Families. In the middle of event coordination after venue selection and marketing had begun the non profit originally selected was unable to provide the 501c3 status or documentation required and we realized the original concept of a party accepting canned goods would not meet the financial goal of Feeding 100 Families. No matter what adversities arose, MJ Solutions pressed forward partnering with Star of HOPE, Salvation Army, Walking Faith Ministries and Somebody Cares Houston as well as Amy Powell and Ken Krimmel as event chairs. The event concept changed to the "The Black and White Affair" benefiting 100 Houston Families in Need-with a continued goal to Feed 100 Families. Donations and sponsorships became the methods utilized to meet the objective and great things continued to unfold.
Nicki Lowenstein, Assistant Director of Clinical Nutrition Services was diagnosed with cancer and planned to attend but was scheduled to have surgery on that day. She gave a personal donation onbehalf of Texas Children’s Hospital and spent the last 3 days prior to surgeryencouraging those around her to help Feed 100 Families in getting moredonations and publicity versus helping her prepare for surgery.
TX Children’s Hospital decided to donate all proceeds from their next fundraiser (AnnualBake Sale) to the Feed 100 Families Initiative. MD Anderson decided to matchingthe donation amount and another anonymous donor matched thatamount as well. The event was a huge success!
