A gold award has been won by DNA Advertising Ltd for its recent advertising concept for Ettinger, a London-based designer, manufacturer, e-retailer and Royal Warrant holder of luxury leather goods and accessories.
The 42nd annual Creativity International Awards attracted worldwide entries. Within the Print/packaging: Magazine Advertising category, DNA’s ‘Diamond Jubilee’ advert for Ettinger took gold and was one of only 24 awards given to UK based creative companies from a global total of over a thousand entries in the print division alone.
DNA has been working with Ettinger on its brand-building press advertising since 2009. The thinking behind the successful Diamond Jubilee national press advertising campaign was to keep the concept simple yet clever, to feature an iconic Ettinger product and to incorporate a patriotic link to the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The client’s brief was not overly restrictive and DNA would like to thank Ettinger for the opportunity to be conceptual and creative.
“The Union Flag may well be a cliché in the context of representing British heritage, but this particular advert was a one-off chance to focus on brand building and strengthen this inherent link with the hand-made product. The realisation of the idea, its style and mood, with the use of the product itself, is what made it work for us,” explained Jon Price, one of the designers who worked on the project.
A recent move to Teignmouth, on Devon’s south coast, has reinforced DNA’s policy of supporting the local economy while providing top-drawer creative skills at competitive rates. Being located outside London has not stopped prestigious clients such as Princess Yachts, Brand-Rex and First Databank from enjoying long-term relationships with DNA.
Managing Director Paul Mabin commented: “We are proud to have won a gold award, especially as we were up against such stiff competition. It highlights the fact that effective creativity is achieveable even for clients with modest budgets”. Read Less
