collective project ENTRE [Mois de la photographie, Paris, 2008]
ENTRE - between - is a collaborative
project led by 14 photography students from the Ecole Nationale Superieure
Louis Lumiere. Each of us met an European citizen who left his country to
settle in Paris and then we asked him:
"If you had to go back to your homeland, what
place, which personn, what atmosphere, would you like to find again?"
With the different answers we get from
them, we decided to go to their homeland and bring them back the photographys
of the elements, the places, the people they missed. This was the starting
point of our European travel, and reflexive approach about lack, nostalgia,
exile, but also about photography transcription of a memory reported by
yourself in the footsteps of someone. Literally. It is
a physical expérience. It was not just
about places or people. What I should bring back was a
part of the answer : why these places and these people for david are
important? I had to put me in the mind of David.
left Barcelona three years ago because he was stifling. He
felt wall in his northern district of Barcelona. I had few
days to learn to hate this area, which might seem nice
and friendly to a newcomer. Because he hated him. I was no longer in the “why“, but quickly in “because“. A strength to repeat it, you end up persuading yourself. This is
theater. David had told me, but i finnaly had to cause it.
