Encubrimientos (Concealments) is the exhibition presents the Cervantes Institute from June 11 to September 12, 2010 at its headquarters under PhotoEspaña.
This exhibition is the result of a selection of ten artists selected to participated in screenings organized by PHotoEspaña portfolio, with the collaboration of the AECI and the Instituto Cervantes. The curators of the exhibition, Alejandro Castellote and Juan Antonio Molina, have chosen the title as an antonym of "Discoveries", to avoid the temptation to rediscover and Latin American photography to demonstrate the bias that involves removing a reading on their reality from the perspective of ten artists.
IS Creative Studio has been commissioned to design the graphics, signage and installation of the exhibition hall in collaboration with OH Architects. Using the concept of "concealments" we have taken the exhibition hall of Cervantes to create a dark atmosphere of gray paint the walls and floor using to support a black ribbon that covers and surrounds the exhibition hall. The signage is made up of lenticular material which seemed perfect for this concept because depending on the angle you look at it, it shows one image or another.
