Graphic Manifesto

This project consisted in create a graphic manifesto with both a print object and a digital platform that were related and reflected the same intent. First of all, each student had to write a small discussion topic where they expressed critical opinion on some subject that concerned them. After that, we were asked to create the graphic manifesto based on these topics (or at least on some of them).

With this in mind, I selected some of the discussion topics that were written, which ones I reordered and rewrote in a manifesto with 8 points. Then, I ended up deciding to create a set of 32 postcards, as my print object, that all together form a poster with the graphic manifesto. Although the project has not been yet implemented, I planned every step. So, the idea is to spread all the postcards in different places of my school (ESAD) and then wait for someone to find them. On the back of each postcard, there are instructions on how to submit it into the website where all the postcards will be gathered. And when all postcards were submitted, it will be possible to see and read the entire manifesto.

The main concept for the creation of the event identity and for some of the design decisions made was based on the compass rose, because the manifesto trace a path from being lost, to start searching and digging and cumulating, and finally to find a passion. Thus, 8 are the points/letters in the logo and 8 are the points of the manifesto, corresponding to the main 8 points of the compass rose; and 32 is the number of postcards which in turn corresponds to the total number of points of the compass rose.

The main slogan in blue means: "We are what we accumulate". The use of different letters from different places, that were photocopied and subsequently worked digitally, is meant to emphasize this same message.
