Encaustic Haiti Poster

Honey bees use the beeswax to build honeycomb cells in which their young are raised and honey and pollen are stored. Traditional beehives are destroyed during harvest when the honey is extracted by pressing, or crushing.
Created as an encaustic piece with Beeswax on board. Viewers who saw this in person had a visceral reaction to the honey scent and remarked how it smelled like home, healthy sweat, and wood.
