Vaporous by Elsiane
Elsiane is a music act from Montréal that released their debut album, Hybrid in 2007. They approached More Than a Friend to use one one of our existing paintings, Mend (seen above), as the album cover, and for us to handle all the art direction for the project: identity, graphics, concept art, live show design (projected visuals, costumes and styling).

We initially executed five 6" x 6" oil on canvas paintings, the artwork was fused together on photoshop and printed in the inside of the digipak CD package. The last panel (the hole) is where the CD tray is placed.

Visuals for the Live Show
The visuals presented the challenge of bringing our artwork to motion. We opted for an eclectic mix of live footage and animation. For some of the visuals (like Mend) we worked with the incredibly talented performer/contortionist, Leah Archambault. For the animated visuals, we worked with Parnell disciple Fred Casia, to bring our hand-drawn animations to life. Below are some stills from the eight short films we produced.
