Elephant and the Moon

I was sitting in a bar down on Bastille the other night. I got a message with a link from a friend of mine: "check this out, you'll love it." Some music. Elephant and the Moon. I loved the name. I loved the description of the music ("sad songs for dirty lovers"). I just loved it. From the first chord. It sounded magical. I listened over and over again to the whole album.
But there is something in the song named "Still (on my mind)"... It is so Dylanesque. Every line is a picture... And there we go... I tried to present those pictures as they appeared in my mind... This time in blue.

The original lines go:
Who knows where dreams go when we give up on them?
I hope it's somewhere pretty, quiet and warm
where they can raise hell, cook up a storm.

I love
this kind of presentation 'cause you can combine the lines however you want... Try it :)

and finally, the poetry...

Still (on my mind)

The barlight is forgiving like the touch of a kind woman:
it tends to hide the miles upon my face,
etched so deep they can't be erased.
I've got a head full of memories and a heart full of liquor;
Love, it's a shame, doll, it's a pity
even stars fade as they reach the city.

You're still on my mind.
You're still on my mind, sometimes.

Who knows where dreams go when we give up on them?
I hope it's somewhere pretty, quiet and warm
where they can raise hell, cook up a storm.
We stole so many hours from whoever's keepin' score,
just to waste them barking at the moon.
Goodbye babe, hope I'll see you soon!

You're still on my mind.
You're still on my mind, sometimes.

And as she was leaving, she said 'Hun...
Fairytales don't last longer than an evening.'

Love is just something that happens,
heartbreak's just something that stays.
Heaven's not a place, it's a girl who's just lost her way.
